Notes/Lists

Notes/lists have been a lifesaver for me. With my ADHD, I sometimes have what seems to be 100 thoughts, ideas, and to-do’s circling around in my head. I have noticed that if I have something to do that is absolutely essential but I don't put it on a to-do list or create a reminder, it will never get done, and I will forget about it. What works best for me is utilizing my iPhone and Alexa device by Amazon. When I am at home and think of something that is time-sensitive or must be done, I say out loud, “Alexa, remind me in one hour to …” or “Alexa add cereal to my shopping list”. If I am out of the house, I will do the same thing but with Siri. I have learned that it is fastest and easiest for Alexa to keep all of my lists organized. I use Alexa to organize the chaos and jumble of information racing around in my head. Once I have told Alexa, I can then take that information out of my brain and off my mental load because I know she will remind me and have all the information I need in one place. Alexa even sends text message reminders and lists to my phone, so I have all the information at my fingertips. I have the Alexa Echo, which is on the more expensive end, but Amazon’s cheapest and most affordable Alexa device option is $17.
